Don’t Let Me Lose This Again
There’s a demon inside of me in a place that I just can’t see
There’s a darkness so far from the light that it hurts the eyes to go there
There’s a shackle that I can’t release
There’s an agony that’s ecstasy
There’s a trauma that I can’t get over
There’s a rumor that I just can’t go there
Pushed to pleasure that feels like pain
Standing naked out in the rain
Force the issue or I’ll surely go insane
But whatever you do
Don’t let me lose this again
Put your hand where my heart once was
Feel the absence of my blood
I’m as cold as a winter’s night when all the fires are wounded
Listen careful and you’ll hear me sighing
Touch my hand and you’ll start me crying
Take me in your arms and I’ll lose everything I own
Pushed to pleasure that feels like pain
Standing naked out in the rain
Force the issue or I’ll surely go insane
But whatever you do
Don’t let me lose this again
I try and say that this is not about you
I will admit when you walk through the door
I lose the last few wits I had about me
And no matter how insane it feels
I’m crying out for more
